Project Evaluation
All questions are to be typed and answered as thoroughly as possible. The project evaluation is due (posted to your wiki under its own category) on the day you present.
I. A) List the five goals from your formal proposal.
· I hope to complete my project successfully (having at least one child happy as an outcome).
· I hope to raise awareness about not so common childhood cancer types.
· I would like to raise at least $100 just from donations to donate to CHOP, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
· I would like to learn more about children and developmentally how they grown and how cancer affects that growth.
· I hope that after my presentation, children will feel affected in some way; whether it be anger that nothing happened as far as a cure, or sympathy that children must experience this, etc.

B) Prove that you met each of these goals or thoroughly explain why you did not.
· I feel as though I successfully completed my project because at the party I had, children were smiling throughout the day. Every child seemed to be happy and satisfied with the party that was being thrown for them.
· Because my project idea shifted back and forth, I feel as though I was not able to effectively raise awareness about cancer not just as a broad idea but as varying disease.
· I did achieve this because when we had the party, many people donated to CHOP which was the venue and what the party was in connection with. CHOP is a hospital that focuses on childhood cancer and what better place.
· My entire project was based on the developmental affects on growth therefore I learned a great deal about how children developmentally are affected by cancer.
· The smiles that children had at the end of the holiday party were what summed it all up. Emotions had been raised and acknowledged, hence the smiles.

II. What did you seek for advice on this project? Did you improve at asking for feedback?
· The main piece of advice that I asked for with this project was what ws my hands on going to be. I truly had no idea of how to approach what I had in mind, nor did I have an idea of how to go bout putting what I wanted to do in action. I definitely improved on asking for feedback because at every turn I was consistently asking “what do you think about this/that.” Things were never final until I got the maximum amount of opinions necessary.
III. Describe any risks you took in order to complete this project. Be sure to consider emotional, intellectual or physical challenges.
· I believe that the biggest risk I took with this project was the fact that I waited until the last minute for a great deal of it. While I normally work well this way, it took its emotional toll on me as well. This was the biggest challenge because I was being forced to handle situations in a matter of a night, when they could have been dealt with prior to that.
IV. List and describe three personal satisfactions you have gained from doing this project.
· Better researching skills- I believe that after doing this project I have become better at being able to filter through the “blah blah blah” stuff in works and really get to what I want to know.
· Better Organization- I thought I was a pretty organized person before this project but now, thanks to my wikispace, everything is organized exactly how I want it to be and is easily accessible.
· Better public speaking skills- People often tell me that I am a good public speaker, but after the exercises that we did in class, I feel more confident with my speech than ever before.

V. Explain two problems you encountered and how you solved them.
· Rough Draft- When it came time to do my rough draft, I was completely unaware of the fact that there were certain requirements that we had to have as listed on the rubric, which I had no clue of. This was devastating to my grade, but it made me acknowledge that for everything there were guidelines.
· Hands-On- The project was a bit of a challenge because at first, I did not know how to approach getting it done. I waited and waited and waited until I finally decided this has to get done and I solved it by getting up to do it and completed it.

VI. What did you learn about managing your time?
· I learned that in order to succeed to the best of your abilities, one must manage time wisely. With projects like this, it is not possible for you to get a good grade and be precise about the work you are handing it.
VII. What did you learn about managing your level of stress?
· I learned to relax and take a deep breath when things got to be overwhelming. Sometimes, taking a break from the work at hand can make all the difference.
VIII. If you could do the same project over again, what would you do differently?
· The one thing I would do over again and do different would be the fact that I chose such a broad topic. I would have did something that could have been narrowed down easier and was not so subjective.
IX. Grade yourself based on the stated goals of the course - to encourage higher order thinking skills such as application of knowledge, analysis of information, creativity and the ability to make strong evaluative judgments. What grade do you deserve and why?

· I believe that the grade I deserve for this project would be an A-. I think that while my project had its flaws here and there, I overall did a good job. I think I was thorough enough in order to make it relatable to all readers and that is truly what matters.
